I find it a hassle to carry these around. Why can't all the banks worked together and issue just one for each individual?

That's odd i thought the newer tokens could be used for more than 1 bank? Just register the s/n number. It's nothing new anyway now share accounts and forex accounts require these number logins which is just additional security. It's actually a good thing because ppl have hacked into bank accounts and withdrawn money or done cc fraud for the longest time.

y u open so many a/c wif so many banks? ...

either too much money or not comfortable enough with any one bank.......................... :o

Very soon, these tokens will also be phased out. Online bank transactions and identity authentication will be done through smartphones.

some do it thru an sms notification but might not be too convinent if you're not located in singapore and sometimes sms are slow that's why i rather use google authenticators. Blizzard also has apps for the iphone and android to produce these number combinations.

It's odd but i believe that the banks did not discuss it amongst themselves so that customers with more than 1 bank account only need to use 1 token after all the new features of these tokens show that they can be used on more than 1 bank. I believe either TS has requested for a new token for each bank account from a different bank or that each bank just automatically gives out a new token without checking with the customer, I believe it's the latter situation.

it is not possible because to do so, they would need to run the same algorithms to generate the pin among other variables.

its suppose to happen (someday..). check out www.onekey.sg my guess is the banks cannot agree to "live together" and IDA no balls to force them to agree. at the moment, looks like onekey only for the stock broking accounts

There's already a onekey token that can be used for brokerage houses. A single, universal token that can work on any platform. No reason why banks cannot just use that token. Its just unwillingness to change and use a common standard.

Sorry, I just need to ask: is the onekey token different from the bank tokens? I have both the new DBS and UOB tokens and they are a hassle, and I don't carry them with me. (They are left at home.) I have a UOBKayHian a/c but am not using two authentification yet. Can I use one of my existing bank tokens for transacting on my UOBKayHian a/c? Or do I need to request UOBKayHian to send me a onekey token?

POSB has one key in their logo.

CPF has THREE keys in their logo. Imagine how hard it is to take your money out from the CPF.

Onekey is different from bank tokens. It is a multiplatform token. Your UOB kayhain probably is able to use that. Just enter your token's serial number at the account management page.
