SG's divorced rate increased almost 4% in 2011. That's bad news for SG. What could be the possible causes of this increased divorced rates?

Personal differences?
Work stress?
Addictions eg gambling, internet, sexual?
marriage dissatisfaction?
etc..

Yes, I see the contrast in me and these [people who choose to divorce. For me, a happy marriage requires sacrifices and hardwork to succeed. But it is worth sacrificing for a happy marriage

Are u Sumiko as someone said so?
Divorce rate in every country is increase not just SG.

arrival of kids...causing unexpected lifestyle changes

interference by in laws

unrealistic expectations before marriage

Sometimes everything looks hunkydory before living together but later the grind, the nuts and bolts of living life together can weigh

on any relationship. The failure to manage this could lead to divorce.

good possible reasons you gave. realistic expectations and marriage counselling may help to reduce divorce rate. it's normally the children who suffer most in a failed marriage

hi there

1. gf: my take.
2. marriage is some licence to bonk each other freely.
3. no children please!
4. a cat or dog shall suffice.

counselling can help if both parties are willing to compromise...and thats the operative word.

Never easy to do that once minds and hearts become hardened...also unhelpful prodding from 3rd parties dont help.

As always there is collateral damage.

There no way to u turn.
1. People more educated want fairness >> all dont want to give want to take advantage
2. Before female respect their husband dont dare to talk back.
3. Now people chasing for money/lifestyle before they think for their family 1st.
4. Aware group make divorce in SG worst because they know they protected.Pay for child maintenance is ok not women maintenance.
5. High living cost before mostly settle home loan max 10 year with one income. Now need 2 income serve for average 25 year.

Too many problem can list until 100....................

It's not the constrast that you should be picking from the mirror image but all the similar ingredients that will cause, what you are trying to avoid! LOL

they tot married means crossing the finished line
no need to wear up or look sexy
too lazy to makeup
when men see a zombie
aand start demanding this and that
their little brother shrink and run very fast into the direction of geylang
