Baby girl found in suitcase along highway
KUALA LUMPUR: A baby girl, born just a few days ago, was found in a suitcase along the Silk Highway near Semenyih.
Deputy Kajang OCPD Supt Azman Ayob said the baby was discovered by a highway patrolman at about 9.50am yesterday.
“He saw the black bag and was suspicious. When he went close, he heard a baby cry,” Supt Azman said.
The patrolman saw the baby with some disposable diapers in the bag and called the police.
The baby was sent to Kajang Hospital where doctors, based on the state of her umbilical cord, estimated that she was three days old.
Supt Azman said police were trying to trace the mother of the abandoned baby and urged anyone with information to help. — Bernama
