Ashamed Bedfellows on a WMD RompShare
SDP has an article with John Tan (SDP), Jaslyn Goh (USD, the "Chope" Party) and Seelan Palay (SFD) going on a trip to the WMD in Jakarta.
(WMD does not refer to the Weapons of Mass Destruction, but some may think there is a link there somewhere)
The title to the article, "Singaporean activists widen network in Jakarta meeting", is cunningly chosen.
The opening liner, "SDP leader Mr John Tan, and activists Mr Seelan Palay and Ms Jaslyn Go continued to build on the strong alliance that the Singapore Democrats have established through the years", is also deceptively composed.
The title is deliberately broadened to mention "Singaporean" rather than "SDP" activists or members because ONLY one of the trio belongs officially to the SDP.
The opening sentence also conveniently puts the acronym "SDP" in front, while knowing that it does not apply to the latter two political bedfellows. The shamefaced reality is that the two are officially not SDP members.
I think a more apt title for this article would have been "SDP and USD widen network in Jakarta meeting .... with one (conveniently indecisive) politician tagging along."
(I have deliberately not mentioned SFD here because it is not a political party, yet)
So yet again, SDP employs all sorts of duplicitous methods and verbal jugglery to hide its political tentacles in the various nooks and cranies.
So much for the much vaunted political transparency, when SDP doesn't even dare identify people's political affiliation correctly (or unashamedly).
