Chitchat Australia, Japan and Singapore

There is a reason why the fruits are prepacked. On the safe side buy loose ones..and select everyone... No point being penny wise n point foolish. And in PERTH I have gotten bad fruit from fruit shops who were selling old stock at fresh prices...even at Woolworths n Coles... But I guess to some the grass is greener on the other side.

yes carrefour pulled out long ago during the 2nd or 3rd renovation of suntec,i dunno why they shut down, rents too much?i dun think they were short of business, their checkout counters were always busy, and lets be honest carrefour's shopping experience is a billion times better than any other supermarket in sg massive floorspace, well designed layouts, top for household goods, bottom for food and perishables pleasant environment, great variety and selection maybe it cost too much to ship these premium goods from europe or something, giant and sheng siong outlay just sucks and a crowded mess theres these unmistakable stench of poverty, like they were targeted at peasant sinkies with absolutely no standards or self respect.

The reason y Carrefour pull out is this : they have this principle, which is if after setting up in a market for x years n they are not the number one or two in that market , they will pull out.

A very good exit strategy.

If they do not pull out, all profits earned in previous years will turned into expenses payment in future years, especially in the PAP land which they have total control of the market share.
