I met up with two friends yesterday for lunch. They were PRC gals, in their 20s and have worked in SG for a few years. They are well informed, articulate and knowledgeable. They are independent gals. They told me that they have rejected SG's offer of citizenship to them. The reasons they gave were:
1. SG citizenship is cheap as almost any foreigner, even foreign criminals, can become SG citizens .
2. SG attracts cheap labourers and willingly embrace them as new SG citizens.
3. SG is so hard-up of attracting new citizens that the SG authorities do not vet new citizens properly.
4. PAP does not take care of aged and poor Singaporeans, saying their families shd do so. Although this sounds reasonable, but it has long term bad effects. More SGporeans dont want to get married or dont want to have children because of the heavy burden the PAP places on Sgporeans to look after their children and parents. This policy will back fire in the long term as many aged sinagporeans will have no family to look after them..so SG will eventually still have to look after these old SGporaens who dont have families. The pap is denying and delaying the inevitable..the need to look after its aged and poor people (it may be better for the pap to care for its people now so that younger SGporeans are not wary of having children). Bad news for SG's future.

7. They dont want their children to be singaporeans.
8. They prefer China to SG.
9. They expect the facade of a propserous SG to collapse in the near future.
How come they have the same feelings and assessments of SG as me? We are from different cultures, backgrounds, etc. The only commonlity we share is that we are gals. How come the PAP dont see the future SG problems as the three of us?
