Recently, their attempt to unionize workers in a factory failed. The workers inside there don't want to form any union. Why? Cause most of them are FT workers with very few SG workers and the FT workers are afraid that if they join union, their permits may not be renewed by boss and they will have to go back home.... they dont want to antagonize the boss....HAHAHA!
In fact, quite a number of the FT workers are Malaysians staying in JB. A Malaysian technician with OT can get about S$2,000 which now comes to about RM5000! Even a fresh grad in Malaysia dont get this kind of money.... they will be lucky to get RM1K+.
Do not look down at these Malaysian workers. They live better than us. They have condos in JB. Also got car (proton). Every morning, they will have breakfast at home in JB and ride a bike to Singapore. Just before the causeway, they will buy nasi Lemak or whatever (RM1-2) and tar-pao it for lunch in Singapore. They even bring their own water bottle. In the evening, they will ride their bike home and have dinner at home. They hardly spend any money in Singapore even though they are making money in Singapore....
So here you have a company setting up a factory in Singapore but employ mostly malaysian FTs.... wtf are we doing here? Are we encouraging people to set up shop here so as to give jobs to Malaysians in JB?
FUCK!
