What kind of "sin" ? Probably this is the root to urge her to commit suicide.

What a tragedy! My heart goes to her loved ones and family members that she left behind. Still so young and her whole life is yet to unfold before her! If it's true she "suicided" because of studies and exam pressure, then the NTU system is really one fucked up bureaucracy. Those people, her superiors, seniors and peers who played a part in her demise by treating her unkindly or as a statistic instead of a human with a face should do some serious soul-searching. What a cold clinical cynical world that we live in.

Don't blame the system, the system can be cold and rigid but the person can decide to walk away or to stay and suffer.

If she dropped out, she will not be the first or the last, just one of many dropouts. Also I could a few dropouts from Harvard who made it BIG in business and in life too.

She may be better off working as a sales person if she drops out of Uni. Why commit suicide?

Life is precious but nobody can prevent someone from killing himself or herself.

TWO women undergraduates from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) are believed to have killed themselves within a fortnight of each other.

Both were found lying motionless at the foot of Housing Board blocks - one in Ang Mo Kio and the other in Toh Guan Road.

Miss Cheryl Tan Qiwei, 22, was a fourth-year student majoring in Chinese and communication studies, while Miss Gan Junru, 21, was a civil engineering student.

The Straits Times understands that Miss Tan had told her parents she was feeling depressed on Jan 11. She was found dead at the foot of Block 431, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 later that day.

Interviewed yesterday, 15 days after her death, her mother, a housewife who did not want to be named, would only say that her daughter was a good student and it was unlikely she had been stressed about school.

She declined to say more.
