[h=1]Hard to seek redress against reckless cyclists[/h][h=2][/h]
SENIOR Minister of State for Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli said pedestrians injured by cyclists can take out civil suits, make insurance claims, go for mediation or settle privately, and that these avenues of redress are enough ("Call to review laws against errant cyclists"; last Wednesday).
Unlike cars and motorcycles, which have licence plates and whose drivers or riders are required to stop and assist the injured, bicycles carry no identification plates and cyclists who hit pedestrians can continue on their journeys as if nothing has happened.
Unless there are passers-by who are public-spirited enough to detain the errant cyclist, the police would have difficulty tracking down the culprit.
Numerous Forum letters have called for tougher action against reckless cyclists - to no avail.
Despite the law, many cyclists continue to ride without due consideration for other road users and pedestrians.
For pedestrians, motorists and cyclists to coexist, the law must be fair to all parties, with clear rules on insurance claims, police reports and enforcement.

When the fuck has civilians been given power by the law to detain people for traffic offences?

Or I'm I wrong? Any expert here?

All cyclists must be banned from the roads unless they wont mind dicing with death. In all fairness, LTA or whoever should impose a tax licencing scheme for cyclists. More monies for their coffers & at the same time, they can share road with motorists.

Fucktard PAP ministers all talking cock :kma:

Make insurance claims against bicyclist? Claim against what? Your own insurance? Their insurance? You think they got buy 3rd party insurance or what? Don't talk cock ok. And btw how to track them if they hit and run? FUCK YOU PAP DOGS :oIo:

It is really getting difficult to hear reasonable arguments from MPs nowadays.
Based on what this idiot says, everyone might as well not get out of bed - then nobody will be knocked down by bicycles.
These guys don't seem to understand the real underlying reasons for stuff like that.
Intellectual level of a primary 4 kid.

Why all so upset? Just look at the name lah...what you expect?
