Would the installation of simple and minimalist barriers on the walkway beside the train track prevent such tragedies from happening?

Ultimately the 70% is to be blamed -as they voted in and send a message to the highest paid politicians in history that its OK to put GDP growth/corporate profit as top priority-so what if foreigners with degrees from south pacific University are treated like precious, trains (in a system with flawed safety procedures)keep on breaking downs , public hospitals/clinics (staffed with 3rd world india and pinoy doctors charging 1st world prices ) are overcrowded and people die from mishandling, dengue epidemics unabated, not a single conviction for haze, ect2.

Would the installation of simple and minimalist barriers on the walkway beside the train track prevent such tragedies from happening?

the 3rd (high voltage and raised) rail is already a "simple" yet dangerous barrier for anyone to stride over. it's the (white) covered rail between the path and the tracks. workers experiencing vertigo or a lack of balance on the path when train approaches at high speed can trip over 3rd rail and lay on the tracks. or two can play chicken by pretending to push each other, and both can trip over 3rd rail onto tracks. while the 3rd rail cover is dual-purpose (protects people from touching it and getting electrocuted and protects it from weather and objects), it is no guarantee when a bozo falls onto tracks and rolls into it from trackside. zap!!!



as you can see from the insert, unless one faints, is playful or careless and accidentally trips head over heels, it will require considerable effort and consciousness on one's part to cross the 3rd rail from walkway onto tracks.
