I remember when Tharman was asked why the S'pore Govt doesn't offer its citizens a safety net, and he replied that S'poreans are given a trampoline. It sounds clever, but is totally untrue, which makes him a liar. S'pore is the most expensive city in the world, so that "trampoline" just sends locals jumping to their deaths from their high rise pigeon holes called HDB flats.
