What am I trying to say with all these above cases and examples?

The ongoing campaign against the online community is a waste of resources which could, should and ought to be used on other more pressing matters – such as those highlighted above. To dwell on the trivial and inconsequential, such as dirty hawker centre ceilings or one single post of “misinformation” on Facebook, and make a mountain out of these, only shows how misguided our government has become.

There are many other issues – many times more serious ones – which it ought to be focusing on.

The system is being questioned, its edges are fraying, the skeletons are falling out of the closets, legitimate questions have emerged, and there is a serious need to address these.

Instead, we have a mainstream media which prefers to engage in trivial smearing games, and ignoring all these pertinent and very important issues and concerns; and a government more interested in issuing meaningless statements and engaging in PR campaigns.

Contrary to what the likes of Kishore Mahbubani would like to have us believe, the erosion of trust in our public institutions – as anyone can see – is self-inflicted.

To point the finger at others is to be blind to what is right before one’s eyes. At the end of the day, trust in our public institutions is not based on how fervently our ministers insist that they are trustworthy. It is instead based on how open, transparent and independent the system and those who run it are.

That's entirely untrue. I have 100% confidence in the PAP and have complete trust that ruling party places the interest of Singaporeans above all else.

While there may be a few glitches that need to be ironed out, the fact remains that I owe everything to the just and honest policies of the PAP that have served all Singaporeans well since 1963.

The powers-that-be clearly find uses for these 2. It is the similar treatment of Samantha Lo, meaning to say they will be told that they have been rather naughty but because they are the blue-eyed gals and guys of the Establishment they will be allowed their rants but still be well fed, still be well taken after.

There are many of these kind in the corporate world!

Took over the sales department and instead of trying to secure more sales decided to go the way of restructuring the sales channel, first attempt failed went on second attempt failed again, decided that the office "feng shui" no good must redo the whole office to bring in the luck!
Stupid top management actually listen & sanctioned the renovation!
After that attempt another sales channel restructuring & it completely failed again!
Guess what? Gave excuse that the office block "feng shui" totally no good for the company and must move to another location!
These excuse pissed off everyone & he was out just like that!
And his lifespan in the company 13 months!
And he was the top tobacco marketeer for the Singapore market during the 90s, it sets you wondering with all the ban on advertising for tobacco in all media & distribution sub out to contractors, what kind of marketing effort one put in to sell the products?
And he was selling MARLBORO!
Oh Yeah!
