Sometimes silence and action speaks louder....

1. Look at the child, until their parents sense it, then keep looking at the child then the parent, smile and shake your head.

2. If the parents approach you for doing it, just say "Don't you know their behaviour is causing public discomfort and nusiance?

3. If the parents continue to be unresonable in their argument, look the parent straight in the eye and just say politely and firmly "I am not surprised with their behaviour now".

4. If they say mind your business, then say "It would be my pleasure to mind my own biz, but their behaviour is unbecomign and a public nusiance".

5. If they still continue, just say "Well, it is just our luck, isn't it?" And smile, then ignore them.

Point is, embarassment works sometimes and people want face. If not, imo, I have put my point across.

Actually for some strange reason, I wanted to address the "man" of the family.
I didn't even look at the wife when speaking to him. Can't really understand it, perhaps I wanted him to be responsible and didn't want to be seen to be bullying the girl or the mother. Still not sure that addressing the girl would have helped.

Both good sensible advice, but I honestly don't think it will work with rude inconsiderate asses like that.
They will be oblivious to what we are trying to do or say.
May be better to walk away or alert someone with authority and pass the ball. Not worth the trouble and I doubt my own patience and temper dealing with them.
