Singapore is NOT a welfare state. It is not the government's job to take care of people who don't take care of themselves.
She wouldn't be in her current predicament if her loser husband had planned financially for his eventual demise.
I agree with Sam on this. Don't rely on the gov for handout. The more you rely on the gov, the more power you are giving them and the less liberty you will retain.
I am sure that there are lots of charitable organisations that can help more effectively than the gov can. Maybe they can start looking up for Kong Hee, he is loaded with lots of cash.
