Had breakfast this morning at my fav bak kut teh store and was shocked to hear that Singapore males above 50 are discrimated by ICA and govt policy regarding marriage to foreign girls.

ANY SINGAPORE MALE ABOVE 50 MARRYING A FOREIGNER WILL HAVE TO BRING THEIR FOREIGN BRIDE TO ICA FOR A INTERVIEW.

This interview will be conducted without the Singaporean present. It will be a one-on-one with staff from ICA. This jist of the interview is this.......

"...please reconsider marrying this Singaporean above 50 as you will not be given a PR status ever".

This is not a joke.

A SINGAPORE MAN ABOVE 50 YEARS OLD MARRYING A FOREIGN BRIDE MEANS THE BRIDE WILL NEVER BE GIVEN PR STATUS IN SINGAPORE.

This discrimination against Singapore citizens is growing by the day. This is just ONE discriminatory measures. Try this LAW in the US, Australia, or UK and the garment will FALL.

If you are running a country, there are two things that are needful:

1. Get the really rich and powerful, those who have high net worth and investible assets onto your side.

2. Make sure you quell the ambitions of the middle class so that they will never get a chance to rise up. The middle class are really the fucked up class because they do not have aristocratic ancestry, yet are constantly trying to move up the social ladder. The way to manage them is continue to feed them delusions of grandeur, and convince them if they work hard, they will get there some day.

MIW have I must say been quite successful in achieving these two. So not surprising about 50 yrs olds getting no where.

It is not uncommon to see foreign brides receiving their PR status only after 5 years and their citizenship only after 10 years.

Yes, if you wife do not have Long term social visit pass or PR status, they cannot work hence you will have to support them all the way and pray to god that you wont get retrenched or replaced.

If the foriegn bride is true to you, they will stay with you through thick and thin, otherwise they will scoot after a couple of difficult months...seen many in my neighbourhood.

You make a decision who you wanna marry, not the Government. Nobody can stop you but you must endure all the "consequences"

Nope, not a fucking clue that this "law" existed. All I understand is none of the detailed qualifying parameters are ever written nor communicated to the sponsor (the old man) or the applicant. The PR application is a YES or NO and when you question the officer on the reason for rejection they will give you a "why dont you fuck off and die" look ha haa thats what I learnt from my colleague whom married a china doll.

Yes, this is one FUCKING COUNTRY that do not give a damn for the old. They consider 50 years as old and at the same time they expect you to work till 80.

Just found out one of my relative (male above 50) is currently living in ChongQing with his 30 year old china wife because of such a policy.

Anyone has any personal experience or know of anyone who is affected by thiS DISCRIMINATING POLICY?

Irregardless of how rich you are, once you are above 50, there is no way your FT wife can get Singapore PR. My cousin is very rich; not kidding. He is a Chartered Accountant with his own firm. Now he has left the firm to his children (from 1st wife), also accountants to run.
