Horrible, evil people can produce masterpieces but their wonderful creations don't negate their character flaws.

I'm not sure if you're serious or not, but you're making a wrong comparison again between the "masterpieces" of an inventor-businessman and a politician (especially if he's a dictator).

The creations or products of Steve Jobs are NON-living things/objects that are, therefore, NOT essential/necessary for human beings to live.

Whereas the policies (at least the major ones) of LKY are ALWAYS accompanied with THREATS and ACTUAL punishment (if threats don't work), sometimes even resulting in DEATH (i.e. outright murder or slow torture until death) or chronic mental illness.

I was illustrating the need for a distinction between judging a person vs their creations.

A person (like a tree) is judged BY their creations (or "fruits"); otherwise, how else can a person be judged? By reading their minds?

I don't know if you're a Christian, but even if you're not, this verse/verses from the Bible should make sense to ANYONE with common sense:

I'm not a baptized Christian, and I'm certainly far from perfect (and I was also never a prefect! ), but at least I have enough common sense to know that BAD trees CANNOT produce GOOD fruit.

You've missed the point. You're just echoing the previous argument.

The point I'm making does not in any way suggest that policies and products are similar.

As long as this "different yardstick" involves words and/or actions, then you're judging based on POLICY:

Okay, I've finally found one specific policy:

The legislation is ridiculous and I will take all measures to ensure that nobody in this forum gets in trouble. I may be an ardent fan of the PAP but I strongly believe that everyone has a right to say their piece. The person on the receiving has every right to reply accordingly.

for any website to remain unscathed, it makes perfect sense to be pro-pap since the majority of subject matter is related to sg. if another party takes over, then it's wise to be pro-whatever party takes over. for now, it makes sense to support the pap as pap is da best!
