Famous prawn noodles come with extra cockroach surprise
STOMPer TC Sam was enjoying a bowl of prawn bee hoon from a famous Hong Lim Complex stall when the sight of a cockroach in the noodles made him sick to the stomach.
He immediately lost his appetite when he saw the cockroach in the bowl.
This stall is popular with tourists and locals and such a standard of hygiene is unacceptable, he says.
The disappointed STOMPer TC Sam says:
“I was happily tucking into my bowl of dry prawn bee hoon lunch from Ah Hui prawn mee stall at #02-61 Hong Lim Complex.
“Imagine my shock when I saw a dead cockroach lying with the bee hoon and the prawns.
“Immediately, my appetite was gone.
“This is totally unacceptable in terms of hygienic standards.
“I'm not sure if my case is an isolated one.
“Nonetheless, this place is frequented by locals and tourists.
“It is definitely not in line with our government's efforts to improve hygiene standards amongst food establishments here.”
