It is easy for any politician or party to raise racial or religious sentiments to win votes from the majority race. And that is what some countries do. They practise race supremacy.
But recent elections outside the US also show people are tired of all the banging on race issues. They have given the opposition a bigger margin in elections.
In Singapore, we are lucky to have a government that practises meritocracy and which does not regard race as an issue in choosing the best individual to run the country. Sng Ah Beng
