Can you define what you mean by won the argument ? Eg there is a judge that said you won etc
For me how I know I have won a argument with ceo is that when the ceo cannot answer my challenge and need to quickly change topic or worst kind they run away and that was infront of a huge crowd of employees.

I also think that most of the time we will not be able to win an argument without judges.
Eg in sbf argument there can never be a winner
Only gong cheebye like @ginfreely will think the last say is the winner .

I do what suits me the most. First of all to unwind, I make myself a nice drink, then do something calming and mindless like writing on this forum or watching tv. usually by this time, the matter has already passed my mind, so I just get back into bed and conk straight out.

OTOH, if there is no settlement, I tend to stay away. Different room, couch whatever. But I tend to dislike this. Win or lose, I prefer the matter to be settled.
