...and hope his deeds will be forgotten over time. Will he finally reveal the reason why Mrs Yzelman was sacked?

Was it because Mrs Yzelman played strictly by the Town Council Act and rules, and she was not "Danny Loh Chong Meng" or "How Weng Fan" enough for him?

Most importantly, did he and/or his gang and/or his family members and/or the business he runs, received any kickbacks or any form of gratification from Danny Low, How Weng Fan, FMSS, FMSI or their associates or intermediaries?

Time for CPIB to step in and investigate.

Hougang Town Council sacks general manager
147th Prostitute Press
31 October 1993

The opposition-led Hougang Town Council has sacked its general manager, apparently over differences in the way the council was run.

A teary-eyed Mrs Virginia Yzelman, 42, who was also the council secretary, packed her things and left her office yesterday.

The decision to sack her was made at a council meeting on Friday night, attended by 10 members, including its chairman, Workers' Party Member of Parliament Low Thia Khiang.

Neither Mr Low nor Mrs Yzelman would reveal the reasons for the sacking.

But sources told The Sunday Times that there had been differences over the award of contracts for certain projects and the way the town council was managed.

Mrs Yzelman, a former civil servant, joined the Hougang Town Council in 1991 after Mr Low won the Hougang seat in the general election.

Her husband, Mr Herman Yzelman, 42, said yesterday that he and his wife, both Workers' Party members, would consult a lawyer before deciding what action to take next.

Mr Low confirmed yesterday that the council's 10 members had decided unanimously to sack Mrs Yzelman, but refused to give reasons.

When approached outside his town council office at Hougang Avenue 2, he would only say that the council had appointed its finance manager, Mr Koh Chong Hai, as the new secretary and general manager.

Mr Yzelman, a member of the Workers' Party Executive Council, said that when his wife learnt that she might lose her job, she sought the help of Mr J.B. Jeyaretnam, the WP secretary-general and adviser to the Hougang Town Council.

It is understood that Mr Jeyaretnam called an executive council meeting on Thursday night to hold an inquiry into the reasons for the move to sack her.

But there was no quorum because only he and three others turned up at the WP headquarters in Jalan Besar, where the meeting was to be held. Mr Low did not show up.

Mr Low said yesterday that he was in Johor that day, and did not see Mr Jeyaretnam's message asking him to attend the meeting until Friday.

" [...] it is important to have a system in which the truth is allowed to be debated, proven and accepted." Low Thia Khiang, "Important to have system where truth can be debated and proven", 147th Prostitute Press, 04 January 1991

Is Low Thia Khiang a two-bit hypocrite? Or does he really hold this belief?

This is since two and a half years after he shared his passionate belief about "truth" in 1991, he refused to reveal the truth about Mrs Yzelman's sacking in 1993.

Audit came up with nothing. PAP bigwigs very disappointed that they could not get rid of WP MPs. So, using opinions, not facts, of the auditors who are all PAP henchmen, PAP stage a coup, getting rid of the WP MPs as leaders of the town council. This is a first. Why? Because the WP MPs showed sinkees how well they ran they town council; fees didn't go up, yet the estate was so efficiently run.

This civil lawsuit is the latest attempt to grasp for straws. And the PAP will win because the bayi controls the trial. The judge does the bayi's bidding.

The three of them should do something dramatic on the verdict day.

Ironies and hypocrisies. What the younger generation as well as the general public do not know about Low Thia Khiang beyond his carefully cultivated public image.

What's there to hide when HC and LHL hide more?

HC and LHL "hide more"? You have obviously not been paying attention to what Low Thia Khiang said:

"I think we have a competent Government... we need to allow time for the Government to work, and I hope, eventually, the policies will take effect on the ground, people's lives will be improved and we have a better Singapore." Low Thia Khiang, "By-election win not sign of trend for GE: Low", 147th Prostitute Press, 28 January 2013

A "competent government" has no need to hide anything.

I don't support WP. The WP MPs contribute almost nothing to the betterment of democracy in this country.

But they have done a good job on the town council. They showed sinkees that the PAP TCs are free spenders and load sinkees with the bills. WP TC was able to manage the estate without increasing fees as well as turning a government grant (which had loads of string attached). Thus, they deserve kudos.

Their removal from TC is a coup de'tat. And shockingly sinkees don't care.

You obviously have never managed a fund or run a business in your life. If you have, you will know that you don't spill out confidential information for your competitors and for everyone in the name of "transparency". Unlike you and the WP flock of worshippers, Lying Lim knows that confidentiality in business is important. Otherwise, Lying Lim would not have declared this:

I know a few people who were connected with the WP old guards and they told me even to this day, they hate LTK, SL and the new WP leaders more than they do with the PAP. Most of them were JBJ supporters and were purged when JBJ left (1st wave) and after GE2006 (2nd wave). From a personal POV I empathize with them and they are right to a certain extent that WP made use of them and threw them under the bus thereafter.

Having said that, I am also of the opinion that the WP leadership did the right thing in managing them out. Naturally, some were more amicable partings while others were very acrimonious and that bitterness last to this day (for e.g. GMS). The reality is these people were just not suitable for the new organization, many had no real organizational capabilities to bring the party to a new level to keep up with times. Many were also relying on their long time servitude to impede change and "reserve" leadership posts and cardreships in order to maintain status quo, this presents a big challenge to rejuvenate the party and appeal to new younger blood.

If the new WP leadership had not done what they did in matters relating to JBJ and the old guards, the party would still be a 1 man 1 SMC show destined to eventually follow CST's political demise. This is a story I see with a lot of startups that eventually move on to become billion dollar MNCs - Founder and a team of people toil through day and night to build up the business, but once the business is built up, the old birds cannot keep up with the growing organization and become blockers, then the founder has to start throwing them out and parachute in professionals. Business is easier because old birds can be placated to an extent with a big payout through options or golden handshakes, but the WP has nothing to offer these people who have quite honestly made sacrifices for the party.

Just the "old" or including the "new" ones like the "hopeless" one in the report below?

BTW, speak with the current crop. What you say about the "old", "servitude", etc can actually be readily applied to the current crop, including to Half-Truth Low, Lying Lim and Turbanless Tigress. In fact, it is far worse.

Do have a chat with CSM or any of the other WP MPs (in their private and personal capacity) or cadres to see whether what I said is true.

Still think all is well with the post-JBJ WP?

"Mr Low was speaking after TODAY reported on rifts within the party, believed to be triggered by members who wanted to see changes in the way the party is run.
Some of the members who identified with the “reformist camp” said Mr Chen was urged to contest for the secretary-general position because he advocates a more “consultative and inclusive” leadership approach, compared to Mr Low. They also felt there is a “lack of transparency” on how individuals are appointed cadre members and selected as election candidates, and a bias towards “professional” candidates." After having his snout in taxpayer's trough for 27+ years, does the Honourable Mr Low Thia Khiang still believe in "checks" to "prevent abuses"?

"Opposition MPs would be able to check on how well the country's finances are managed and prevent abuses by corrupt government officials, said Mr Low Thia Khiang, the Workers' Party candidate for Hougang.
Urging voters to support the opposition, he said at a WP rally in Hougang last night that no one - not even those in the People's Action Party - was incorruptible "in the face of wealth and power".
Nothing could guarantee that "a group of ambitious men" within the PAP would not swindle Singaporeans of their hard-earned money, he said.
In his view, the opposition's watch-dog role was necessary because the Government's investments were made up of the country's reserves, which were generated by Singaporeans.
It was also needed because the Government now controlled a large segment of the economy and had a "complex maze of investment structure". "Opposition 'can keep an eye on S'pore's finances', 147th Prostitute Press, 30 August 1991
