In late-April 2021, New Century Cruise Lines (NCCL) retired two of Asia's longest-serving cruise ships - Leisure World (52-years-old) and Amusement World (54-years-old). Commenting on the disposal of both vessels, NCCL said that the Coronavirus/COVID crisis had severely affected the operations of the cruise ships, which had been unable to generate charter revenue while at the same time continued to incur maintenance costs. Coupled with strong scrap steel prices, the company decided to sell the boats to realize its investment in an uncertain market environment.
- Leisure World was sold to NKD Maritime Ltd (India) for USD 3,59 million (~EUR 2,98M/~GBP 2,59M), gaining ~HKD 6,37M (~USD 0,82M) on the sale / based on its book value HKD 21,3M.
- Amusement World was also sold to NKD Maritime Ltd.
- Both ships were sold for scrap metal and departed their anchorage (off Singapore) heading to Alang India.
I like leisure world very much , there are 4 roulette table $2 two,$5 two , can bet here and there no need to wait long time , always went last ferry change 500 rapid roulette got free room ,once upon a time still remember the last ferry was 10.45pm went back harbour front, and 2 computers on the reception floor , I always use it put $2 do Internet transfer from 1 account to another in order to withdraw money , then lost till underwear drop every time, sad to see the ship RIP.
I love leisure world too. I love to order their chicken wings at the bar counter inside the casino.
Very nostalgic.

Food was reasonable good.
Crew were polite and helpful.

The gambling ship will not die despite no way to go in current situation, it surely will come back again after the covid get off , the fat market already mature throughout this many many year with so many regular die heart fans , new century will not easily give up .
