Advice on pre-paid SIM card for Johor

Has anyone tried using this ? http://www.trusling.com/prepaid-sim-cards-1/malaysia.html But price rather high and seems like they are more a re-seller of Celcom SIM cards in Singapore.

From FAQ Page :

What's the difference between the prepaid SIM packs offered here and that retailed in Malaysia?

There is no difference between these. For your convenience, we have imported Celcom SIM packs from Malaysia back to Singapore so that you can get them before you depart and able to use it once you arrive. SIM cards are sold at the same price here and in Malaysia.

if you interested in Malaysian telco, go for UMobile package UMI48 (RM50.00) topup with 2GB highspeed data plan and it also comes with 100 free minutes local calls and 30 local SMS's provided.

Otherwise, you can also choose DiGi as some of the suggestion above !
so Digi offer similar package but undercut UMobile by rm10

Digi seems to be "the" choice for short-stay in Malaysia, based on the learned opinions of bros who participated in this thread.

So any telcom shop @ City Square will have Digi SIM card ?

This matter interests me as I have 3 prepaid malaysian phone cards where their ‘Long Life Validity' periods expired recently. :(

It is my understanding that the Digi 'Super Long Life Validity' option is no more available. It was formerly RM30 for 1 year validity.

Celcom had an even better deal which was also withdrawn - RM30 for 1 year and RM50 for 2 years.

Does anyone know if any other telcos still offer these "long life" options? It is my understanding that prepaid numbers may be ported over to another telco.

Thank you in advance.

What I understand is that now only the Hello Malaysia Traveller Plan can activate the RM30 Super Longlife.
It cost RM3 to switch to this plan if you are using the previous plan. Must go to a Digi Store to do the switch.

Thanks.

Managed to get a cute xmm in a phone shop to show me how to get the super long life for DIGI.

First, will need to change the prepaid plan from the old 'Digi Best Prepaid V3' to 'Digi Best Prepaid V4'. Will cost RM3. To change, use the following code and follow the instructions. It will ask you to confirm the change of plan at RM3.

*128*1*4# send

After the above is done, check plan has been changed by *126# send. Once plan has been changed, use the following to subscribe to 'Super Long Life Validity'

*128*1*7# send
Choose option 3 (If option 3 is not shown, don't worry, just send '3', apparently some old phones do not show option 3)
Thereafter follow the instructions to extend super long life by 365 days.

Unfortunately that xmm was not able to extend the life for my celcom card.

Seems I will need to look for another xmm to help me with my celcom card :D.

Hope this is useful for Digi prepaid users.

Cheers and have an enjoyable weekend (in msia, of course)
