Eh... sorry didn't quite get the story. Are you saying because in Thailand its common practice to bring son to visit prostitute and teach them how to put on condoms etc that many died from AIDS in Thailand? Or are you referring to Singapore not having this culture hence many are dying and suffering from AIDS?
Its interesting that there is a cultural difference where one embraces sex as a "natural" thing that all teenage boys will eventually do and that teaching them the "right" way is important before they start experimenting themselves. Versus, the "Asian Values" of deny teaching about it as long as possible and find out about yourself during your wedding day.

I think certain countries have different approaches when it comes to sex. I remember someone once told me in Scandinavian countries if a girl wants to have sex at 16 and told her mum. The mum would actually arrange to drive the daughter to the guys house and pick her up later. I suppose it can also be true about what you said about Thais. I believe, giving accurate information and honesty about this traditionally taboo subject could actually make your children grow up in a more healthy manner.
