this is a great loss for our country, a potential future MP for PAP candidates..my condolence..:(

AN A*STAR graduate scholar studying for her doctorate in Sweden died a week ago after fainting on the way to school.

Miss Terry Huang Ying Ting, 24, was studying at the Karolinska Institutet, one of northern Europe's top medical universities. Her heart had suddenly stopped, reported Shin Min Daily.

Her family last heard from Miss Huang on Nov 26, when she made a routine call home during a train ride to school. She sounded fine. But two hours later, her parents received news that their daughter had been taken to hospital after fainting.

They flew to Sweden to be with Miss Huang, who died five days later on Nov 30. Doctors said she had suffered a cardiac arrest, according to her father, who said his daughter had been in good health.

Miss Huang graduated from Britain's Imperial College two years ago, where she studied the use of the body's immune system to reject cancer. Her graduate scholarship was under a tie-up known as the A*Star-Karolinska Institutet PhD Programme, which accepts only students with good honours degrees.

Miss Huang's wake started on Sunday night at the Singapore Casket in Lavender Street. Her body will be cremated on Tuesday. In her obituary in the Sunday Times yesterday, her parents said: 'Dearest Terry, our treasured child, Like you always did, you graduate ahead of the class.'

This is one of the saddest but most poetic elegies I have ever seen.

what a waste
so young and for apparent no good reason
probably study too hard since at young age

since she die without good reason, the doctor in sweden have to use a chain sword and cut her up, take out her brain and organ and test for drug or poison. what a gruelsome way to die and later cut up.

24 doing phd, while she is lucky she dun have to do NS, if she do that, her place would be taken by some PRC.

well, maybe she study in warmer country. this time in sweden , very cold. get up in the morning, your body temp is very cold, if you rush to university, the heart cannot take the stress and stop.
