On Wednesday night after I got back to the hotel in Taipei at 10pm I decided to go for a walk, it was like 22degC so very sabai sabai. I walked into a small street known as Yong Kang Street 永康街, and at the end of the street discovered a tiny Japanese restaurant, deco was old place is narrow very typical Japanese. Name is 築地市場海鮮居酒屋.

I already had dinner so just wanted to have a drink. I ended up with two bottles of very good sake and some snacks

This beef was so soft it simply disintegrated in the mouth.

Just found a great place for breakfast still here enjoying some white wine

Starter onion spices

Double egg bread with spinach

This is no pizza but really great cos it's soft

Simple lunch at a typical coffeeshop but specializing in kway-chap

Kway-chap in Thailand isunlike our Singapore's - in Thialand kway-chap consist mainly of crispy port (烧肉) pig's blood and some spare parts, also the kway is curled. This curled kway is actually the original style and old timer in Singapore can testofy to it. This bowl is 40 baht.


Khao Kah Moo (pork leg rice) - 50 baht


Gaeng Kheow Wan (literally translated to - sweet green curry) - 50 baht if mixed with rice it would have cost only 35 baht

This restaurant is frequented by Japanese working in Bangkok so its as authentic as you can get in Japan, I saw at least two Japanese chefs one in the kitchen and the other the executive chef behind the bar serving me and my guest. This restaurant has 3 storeys and many private rooms above. We had a great time at the bar ordering two sushi each time with lots of sake of course. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant if anyone come visit Bangkok.
