Seacon Bangkae mall now has a new food street section (grand opening yesterday). Interesting variety including msia bak kut teh, roti prata, hk style noodles. Good system of electronic card you pay on checkout (instead of coupons). Now the mall has 3 levels of food sections -basement + mid level food courts and this new one.

Solo barista with filtered special coffee. Showed me how to ‘fart’ coffee (exit gas) in filter, exacting boiling water temp and to circle same (flavour). He spoke decent English and just back from some Sg coffee contest.

I am very lucky to be living in Bangkok where one could find great international food here and most of the time cheaper than in the original country. For a person who travel much I am quite particular with food quality and coming from Singapore I know how ridiculous "good food" can cost. Bangkok has a large Japanese community living here as there are many Japanese factories and businesses located here as such Japanese food here is in the level same as in Japan, so say the Japanese professionals I encountered here who swear by it and often claimed Bangkok to have the best compared to the other cities around this region. Best as in the freshness, quality of cooking and prices.

If one likes fresh sashimi I highly recommend Sushi Tsukiji in Thaniya. Fresh seafood is airflow in twice a week directly from Japan.
