A Singaporean's guide to living in Thailand

Joined the North Park Club recently and discovered that Fu Man Yuan (Intercontinental Hotel in Bugis) has a branch in this club. So if anyone craving for authentic Cantonese cuisine this is the place to go.

Was there last night with someone and enjoyed some very good and quality Cantonese dishes

Sharks' bone fish maw soup - note the fish maw is not those deep fried stuff this is the higher quality solid fish maw

Roast duck in Chinese tea leaves

Three cups chicken

Hong Kong Kailan

Fried rice with cubes of salted fish

The address

Its a little pricey however for the authenticity it's definitely worth the price.

One more for the road

before I bit goodbye to this beautiful place

Not pious type, did the local famous shrine Phantai Noraising at Samut Sakhon in outskirts Bkk. In memory of royal warrior Noraising who asked for royal execution for messing up palace boat ops.

Original boat on display

Pattaya has a new attraction, Mimosa. I cannot really describe what it is except to say that it is like a night market thing.

So off I went last night to Mimosa thinking I'm going to the night market but had a rude shock when needed to buy a ticket to enter which cost 150 baht, that's really expensive. But since already there what the hell. When entered as expected its a bloody market and some other attraction perhaps for kids like rides and aquarium etc which require more fees. I was thinking this bloody place is a ripoff.

Then when I walked towards the center of the place I heard loud music and say big crowd watching performance so I decided to watch too. Now I know why the need to pay 150 baht and I think its worth to pay. Took a few videos and stick them into one and posted in Youtube. Try to watch the whole video, its pretty entertaining, I did enjoy the show.
