A Singaporean's guide to living in Thailand

A storm is on the way on 15-17 November. Affected area are eastern seaboard. That includes chonburi, rayong, chantaburi. and trad, and southern cambodia province. So far, here OK, those travelling to these areas, be prepare.

..If u want a driver, let me know. Ex royal thai navy officer. Knows chonburi, rayong and chantaburi inside out. Pay him a daily rate plus diesel. I can arrange if u need.

Does he have a car?
What is considered a fair rate?

OK fair rate during high season should be less than 2k per day for a quite new vios /city. Get from reliable companies, some shops may be cheap, but when return car, many problems. Might lost deposit.

For personal driver. Rate is 1.2 to 1.5k per day. Fuel charge seperately. will bring you anywhere and everywhere.

Thanks cbfc. I thought you might chime in - this is your backyard after all.

Is 1.2-1.5k inclusive of car or is the rental of car a separate charge?

Everyone's getting ready for the Loi Kratong festival tomorrow. Too this video last night at Nathong for dinner.

Actually loi krantong is the worse day to go out makan at restaurants with water cos it'll be pack so I'll avoid but sometimes the decision does not lie with me. Lantern or boat it's both but lantern is northern culture.

At a car care shop now saw this very American Corvette original right had car, I don't really know how to appreciate the design anyway Thais do love cars

i'm at pattaya now. going off to bangkok on perhaps 21-22nd nov. joey, ur thai number still the same?

In Thailand one can easily fond tze-char style of noodles where gravy is cooked seperately with noodles and then poured over noodles just before serving, in Thai this style is called RAT-NA.

So for our hor-fun in this style we will call it rat-na-sen-yai (meaning big noodle with gravy); bee-hoon is rat-na-sen-lek (small noodle with gravy); sang-meen is called bak-mee-krob-rat-na (literally crispy yellow noodles wiht gravy) here is a sang-meen I had last night for dinner

See the sang-meen

Mixing

The above cost 80 baht or S$3.20 that's because I ordered special with more ingredients but you can have this from only 50 baht or S$2

The store I had the above is run by a Chinese family they sells 3 main things as you can see in the video:- wonton noodles (in Thai its bak-mee-kheow-moo-daeng literally yellow noodles with wonton and charsiew) ; the another stall is selling tze-char (believe me they can cook what every you want) ; finally desserts.
