The thing is that many of their behaviour surprised the the other races, its so out of the norm. Who will ever think of paying half for half an hour massage or paying full but share with friend half hour each? This is really beyond anyone of us I must say.

Were you there when this happened? :D What did you do? I must admit, very creative :D
Aiyah Singaporeans also like that sometimes (or many times)

Partly encountered and this was what happened - me and someone were the only ones in the massage joint doing foot massage in Walking Street, still early around 4-5pm so not many people on the street yet. Two Indians came to the shop, upon sliding the door open a masseuse who is not working but in the shop at that time jumped up and spoke loudly to them "Close! Close! Close!" As I wondered what was happening that was when the masseuses in the shop started to talk about what I wrote before.

It really doesn't impact me at all and really, its their own business between the Indians and the shop and non of my business but I thought it was damn funny about what they said so I posted. However if anyone Indian or Chinese or Russian who has strong and offensive body odor come sit beside me doing foot massage you bet I will stop my session, pay and bugger off without saying a word.

Had two great dishes during my dinner last night in Guisto Restaurant, worth trying for anyone coming to this restaurant: one is an appetizer the other a main course

Escargot White Wine - so very often escargots are cooked and eaten on a ceramic escargot dish with 6 or 12 depressions to hold the escargots and baked with olive oil, butter and garlic. This is the first time I have this done with white wine sauce. Cooked to perfection blending well with the raw egg yolk.

The other first is spaghetti saute with sea urchin and Italian dried chilli - the sea urchin blended very well with the spaghetti and not overcooked infusing a strong fragrance of the sea into the dish, thin slices of sea urchin is deep fried adding a sudden burst of the wild sea when chewed

Both the above I highly recommend and was lucky to have chosen a very nice bottle from Siena's Mastrojanni, the San Pio is a blend of 20% Sangiovese and 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, one of the best I've had, it's strong enough for my liking as I like strong full body wine and yet soft enough to go with the escargots and sea urchin dishes.

Of course there is that mandatory cold cuts and foie gras of Italian ham and salami to start the meal

After my first time having the Florentine beef 3 years ago in Florence wife and I had been wanting to eat it again in Bangkok but failed to find any Italian restaurant doing it. Main reason restaurant owners told us is it is difficult for any customer to order a piece of beef more tan 1kg and also it takes certain skill to be able to cook it.

I finally found it last night in Pattaya when dining with bro Chin at Al Porto a very big Italian restaurant at the end of the Walking Steet.

Here is the meat before cooked

It's 1.5kg

As usual there is the wine and cold meat and some mussels to start with

We really had a great time talkingcock with all these Italian food

Spinach Ravioli

This is a very big restaurant and very worth going as the prices are so reasonable and has a great selection of wine. Take a look at the video

Slice of thai mango 26/9

Why thais stay short, due to less milk consumption (vs Asia neighbours)? :p

Thais drink little milk, stay short
Published: 26 Sep 2013 at 10.22Online news: Local News.

Thai young people tend to be short in stature because they do not drink much milk, Public Health Minister Pradit Sintawanarong said on Thursday.

According to a study by the ministry, the average height of 18 and 19-year-old boys is 167.1 centimetres, and 157.4cm for girls. Their short stature is attributed to low milk consumption, Dr Pradit said.

Thai people consume less milk than other Southeast Asian countries, with Thais drinking about 14 litres of milk per head each year, compared to Southeast Asia's average of 60 litres and the world rate of 103.9 litres annually, he said.

Pornthep Siriwanarangsan, director-general of the Department of Health, said the ministry aims to raise the average height of Thai teenage boys over the age of 18 to 175cm, and to 162cm for teenage girls.

The ministry is also promoting breastfeeding for babies in the first six months of life, that young children drink two to three glasses of milk a day and that older children drink two glasses daily, Dr Pradit said.

The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations has set the last Wednesday in September as annual World School Milk Day.

That is bad advice... baby drink breastmilk is ok but not children or adult.

Re: Slice of thai mango 26/9

Adult just wants the breast, can do away with the milk lah.

Pattaya has been hit by floods triggered by heavy rains since Monday night.

Reports said flood levels had reached one metre in some areas of Pattaya. Pattaya Nua, Sukhumvit and Pattaya Tai roads were flooded and impassable by small vehicles.

Police, disaster prevention and mitigation officials and volunteers were working together to quickly drain water and facilitate traffic flow.

The reports said flood levels had started receding on Tuesday morning.

In Prachin Buri's Muang municipality, Kabin Buri and Sri Maha Phot districts, flooding had started to subside, as crews used pumps and sandbags to fight rising waters.

Water levels should return to normal in the next couple of days, provided there is no more heavy rain, officials said.
