Sawasdee Krup everyone, Happy Vesak Day (yes today is holiday in Thailand). Becuase its another holy day so no alcohol anywhere only at home.

Morning guys, sky is still quite dark but can see the beautiful sunrise from the balcony.

Just preparing my coffee and will be ready in few minutes time.

It's monday again. Think I will go to my old apartment to bring some kitchen utensils back here.

You mean you only collect old utensils on Mondays? Hmmmmm.

Hehehe. Victory Monument right? Never order extra intestine and blood lor?

Pii our order is "no organs and no blood". Ya we don't eat these stuff.

Don't worry. Always have hope when come to drinks - Joe's bar is always open in Ramintra.

Hey you friend khun phuying chaimai?

In the most happening blues bar in Bangkok, Saxaphone, in Anusauwaree (Victory Monument). Always love this place. Amazing Thais can do Blues so damn well.
A nice and wonderful place indeed. Once in a while you find foreign artists performing there to break the monotony of the resident band. The sitting arrangement is fabulous where one gets up close with the musicians. I love it loud and thundering boosting the threshold of alcohol intake.
I am not sure whether Hoochie Coochie Blues is still there. 3 members of the 4-piece band are music teachers by day.

Cool buddy glad to know you like blues too. You come we go together ok? Actually wanted to listen to the second band starting midnight but already almost finished 2 bottles of red and mrs already quite tipsy so don't want to drink some more if not she go crazy drunk, so went home after the first band finished 2 sets. Of course had the kuay-chap first then went home.

This is a nice place owned by Singaporean angmo.
The first saxophone bar used to be in orchard outside centerpoint and it's sister joint somerset's in then westin hotel.

Ya..I remember Dick's wife, Jacintha was performing at Saxophone Orchard with crowd overflowing to the sidewalk.
Eldee Young & Monteiro were at Somerset dishing out jazz. With Eldee's cheeky sense of humor, the house was packed most of the time. Unfortunately he died in Bangkok 2007 after the last gig at The Living Room, Bangkok.

Ha ha The Living Room, Sheraton Suk Soi 12, wife and I often go there for Sunday brunch with jazz, we enjoy it very much there. Problem with this place is its guests too atas and often see high-so Thais there so uptight and pretentious good thing jazz quality is really top. Have seen Jeremy Monteiro perform there a few times 2 years back. Very nice guy.

Yeah blues, jazz, soul & chills I love them all. Will definitely want to get knock out (not necessarily drunk) when I am there with you...he..he... Hah..the kuay-chap is a real gem you can't find in Singapore. Cheap and excellent!
If you have the time, try O'reilly's Irish Pub at your favourite Thanon Thaniya but am not sure the Beatles imitator is still there. Find out and let me know, please.

Hey thanks really. I don't know about this. So shameful. You see when I stated to live here 6 years ago I live in Ratchayothin's Supalai Park Condo next to Central Ladphrao. And my work requires me to travel to upcountry and also overseas a lot so my extra time is spent mostly along the Ratchada stretch and Kaset/Nawamin. Even now that I moved to Ramintra its always overseas and when in Bangkok will be around this area which now include Ekkamia/Ramintra, Fashion Island areas. So if anyone mention to me Thonglor, Klongtoi and many downtown areas I really have no idea hell I've never even been to the famous Kao San road and also never visited the palace, museum, jade buddha etc etc. So your recommendation is really new to me. Thanks buddy.

Today will spend time in Central World shopping - wife go do her facial treatment and I go shopping. Evening will go nuat 3hrs. See you guys.

Thailand is so big even the Thais don't know all the places. It depends on your priorities and interests. I never visited any of those museums, palace or temples except once in Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Ayutthaya where my girl went there to pray for everlasting relationship with me in which it ironically ended shortly after. Concentrate on your business until a day when you can call it done and you have all the time to explore and experience what you haven't seen or been. No man can see the whole world in such a short life time.

Btw guys is it true that the R's in the names of some places are silent and not supposed to be pronounced?

Like take the famous temple the emerald temple i think that's the english name. It's spelled wat phra kew but the thais pronounce it as "pha kew" with the "R" missing. Same with this boutique hotel. Friend told me the name of the hotel is called paso. Googled it but could not find anything so went to agoda to find and finally found it the spelling is praso so the pronounciation according to the spelling should be "pra - so" then again maybe the R isn't supposed to be pronounced. Is this true?

As expected, traffic jams everywhere. Had khao gaeng lunch with friend at Jomtien beach. Simple but aroi. Yes, friend is a female, must say she is one good friend whom i can turn to if i need any help.

As today's part of long weekend holiday traffic is very clear and smooth. Central Worl also not many people. Bangkok people are some very lucky fellas every time holiday all leave the city to the many beautiful places upcountry.

KYP, I've not come to Central World for a long time son here I am today and I remembered your shark fins recommendation. Is this the shop?
