A good start to a long day of door to door plying my screws at the countryside today. Simple, freshly cooked and cheap power breakfast where you have carbohydrate, protein, fibre etc. Plate only 45 baht or $1.90 and a bottle of water 10 baht.

Will have enough energy and motivation to do some selling after this

Probably the best khao mun gai (chicken rice) I've had in LOS. Not fatty meat, with not oily rice. In old corner shop in Ampawa, next to famous Mae Klong railway market

2. free plain ice water fm a corner in most eateries (self service)

Why do individuals from Singapore or used to live in Singapore, write or say, "plain water" or "plain ice water"?
Is water not colourless or plain?
Water is simply water, or ice water.

Quaint, charming corner shop. Seems it was on prime time telly too.

Fruit from house 15km from Cha'am. Only bt15/kg.

Nearby a new roadside charming restaurant. 3 pork noodles + 1 kah moo rice total only bt125 (sgd 5.40). Incl my piset (big) noodles

Market place is often a good and interesting way to experience local lifestyle.

The butcher wielded an axe to cut pork. And was so accurate with slicing 0.5kg pork neck order. Amazing the scales hit it after

All food ingredients for yet another family makan only cost bt500 ($22). Pork BBQ over a charcoal stove. Goes very well with beer

Almond cheese cake at cafe. Now for some civilisation at H Hin (45 mins drive away).

While plying my trade as as screw salesman around the upcountry I stay in a cheap but clean motel like this every night, cost between 400 to 800 baht a night with simple breakfast.


This type of upcountry life is world apart from the luxury of countryside living our @yinyang is experiencing now. My simple breakfast with customer.

I've done bt800-900 in Bangkae (Thonburi), at 14Resort. Got to excuse the namesake, as only decent hotel in neighbourhood. Best is car porch next to your room, and 5 mins walk to Seacon Bangkae. Bfast? Go to hole in wall noodle shop. Coffee at some gas station

No high living for this poor church mouse. Was at Tamarind Market (next to popular touristy Cicada) at Hua Hin.
