... It takes people with reasoning ability and sound judgement and a sense of fairness to ascertain whether something is right or wrong.
These people need to step up and deal with those who do not have such traits.

But it can also be argued that as people in a supposedly democratic society, we have the right to read and make judgements for ourselves.
And the way to do so is to step forward and make a stand, ensure that there are opposition voices in parliament, regardless of which party makes up the government.

But the problem is democracy or freedom, majority of singaporeans are not concerned with...other than making a living for themselves...

compare the crowds at Hong Lim Park, more people attended the MiniBonds issue, rather than for free speech..etc.

Democracy is not a one way street, every Singaporeans must be actively involved, most importantly, they must be interested.

Actually there is some basis to having some control over the media, or to put it nicely, having a "responsible" media. Any smart leader would do so. If you were the ceo of an organization, would you allow your company newsletter to be issued out before reading it, letting someone you trust read it or at least putting in guidelines, rules or people in place who will not be "irresponsible"?

The media should be independent of the state and provide balance reporting as much as possible. It should not promote the ruling party's interest at the expense of other political parties. S'pore's interests and the ruling party's interests do not always converge.

The media has a responsibility to the public to inform them on important issues fairly and truthfully, even if some of these issues are 'sensitive' to the political elites.

Why just take pictures and post on the internet?
Stand up, walk over to the person and tell him or her that it's wrong.

Picture speaks a thousand words. Confronting the person is one matter, shaming him to the world carry more weight since his colleagues, relatives, parents, friends and even govt get to see this kind of person existed in our country. Instead of confronting a stranger whom he doesn't know you nor care about what you are going to say to him, let those civic person who knew him, through the pictures, teach him or her some manners. If his inner social circle of friends or family cannot change his behaviour, I doubt a stranger can do much except to call the police.

how to know whether is right or wrong. just an example, when a dog suddenly attacks you when you are walking leisurely, whether this is
right to kick the dog? common sense is "yes, you can kick the dog to defense yourself" but remembered some years ago, a man kicked a dog and was sentenced to jail???!!!!
