the entire taurus family of pistols and revolvers of today offers a secondary safety or security feature - the taurus security system (tss) and it's a registered trademark. the weapon comes with a device or key, and it's inserted into the rear or side of the weapon depending on the model to turn a nut. just a quarter-turn or click will cause the nut to protrude, and it will prevent the weapon from firing in all conditions, including the aforementioned feature with the "transfer bar" and or other manual safety override. to deactivate, the key has to be reinserted and the reverse quarter turn is made. this feature is not conducive nor practical for field operations when security personnel requires quick lethal use of the weapon. a future advanced feature that may be practical is the use of the weapon owner's electronic thumb or finger print, much like the tactile security feature with the home button on the apple iphone 6 and 6+.

抢枪案嫌犯为40元闯下弥天大祸！司机送货忘了将钥匙取走，嫌犯与同谋伺机将罗厘开走，偷走车上40余元储值的现金卡。
《新明日报》连日报道，23岁男嫌犯申诉胸口疼痛，由两名警员押送到邱德拔医院治疗，当他和31岁马来警员单独在诊室时企图逃跑，先夺警棍再强抢警员左轮佩枪，过后连开三枪，警员当场中弹受伤。
嫌犯穆哈末.伊斯干达（Muhammad Iskandar Bin Sa’at）之前已被控一项偷窃车辆控状，昨天被加控一项抵触军火法令控状，而该项控状的最高刑罚是死刑。
《新明日报》记者继续追踪此案件，了解到嫌犯是在上周五（19日）下午2时15分至30分之间，在位于三巴旺通道第477座组屋的卸货处，和一对男女同谋偷窃一辆罗厘，才会闯下大祸的。

UPDATE TO INCIDENT AT KHOO TECK PUAT HOSPITAL (KTPH)
Police have classified the case as one of Unlawful Discharge of Firearms under the Arms Offences Act.
The suspect, a 24-year-old Singaporean man, was arrested for motor vehicle theft on 19 June 2015 and under remand for further investigations. On 20 June 2015, the suspect complained of chest pains and was escorted by Police officers to KTPH to seek medical attention. While inside one of the hospital’s examination rooms, which are not accessible to the public, the suspect attempted to escape but was stopped by one of the Police officers. A struggle ensued during which the suspect snatched the Police officer’s revolver. Shots were fired from the 31-year-old officer’s revolver. The subject was subsequently subdued and the situation brought under control.
The suspect sustained superficial injuries while the Police officer suffered gunshot wounds to his left thumb and right foot. The officer was subsequently conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He has since undergone surgery and is currently in a stable condition.
The suspect will be produced in Court on 22 June 2015 at 2pm on a holding charge of Unlawful Discharge of Firearms under Section 4(1) of the Arms Offences Act Chapter 14, which carries the death penalty.
