The security guard who was seen slapping a member of the public in a viral video has been fired, said his employer Certis Cisco.
In the video, which was posted on several social media pages on Tuesday (28 November), a security guard is seen arguing with a taller man dressed in a red polo t-shirt outside The Central at Clarke Quay.
The confrontation ends with the security guard slapping the man. The guard then walks away while the man, seemingly stunned from the assault, enters the mall.
A Certis Cisco spokesperson told

“As such, the staff involved in this incident has been terminated with immediate effect.
“We have also shared the incident with the rest of our security staff and reiterate the importance of conducting themselves professionally when interacting with members of the public.”

“This is the first time an incident of such a nature has been lodged and we will work closely with Certis Cisco to ensure that the security personnel deployed at the mall carry out their duties with the highest level of professionalism.”
