Not sure when you went to get the impression Genting is empty. During the peak hours of 11 am to 6 pm, business is pretty good.They have also embarked on a massive expansion of casino floor space. The new area is linked to StarWorld. Overtime, there appear to be plans to expand upwards so as to link the two casinos.

Genting is the model for what will happen in Singapore. In the past, there was massive opposition to the casino. Over an extended period of time, social norms changed and it became accepted. This is what the PAP hopes will happen in SG. Over time, they hope social norms will change and casinos will become accepted. They have even earmarked potential sites for a third casino. One is in the west while another is not too far away from NUS.

Was there during the National Day weekend (8 Aug to 12 Aug) and found the place quite empty.

Yes, it is indeed bad for Sg to rely on vices like gambling to prop up the economy. SG has almost abandoned manufacturing and gone on the easy path of promoting vices. That cant be good in the long run

I just returned from Genting Highlands. The place was quite empty as most gamblers have come to RWS and Sands in SG to gamble. $2B revenue has been collected from casino gambling

Gambling has come to SG. Vices have come to SG. Prostitution has proliferated in SG. Despite what the pap has reported, more crimes have been committed. Suicide has increased.
