... For example, you will say "If only he is rich, I would have married him immediately". You do not say "If only he was rich..." unless you are talking about a past proposal and you no longer know about that guy's financial situation. If you know that the guy is rich now, you will say "If only he was rich then...".

tis 1 shud b ...

“Just like I learnt it from the Outdoor emcees in Orchard Road”.

So your employers has given it to you straight about what they think of those public open-air setting deejays especially in that artifical posh area.

If so, how do I explain a steady increase in my listenership (bearing in mind I started on a shift that did not exist before I went on)? Why has my public profile increased in the last year? Why do I have more clients coming to me for public shows more than ever? And lastly, if my English is so bad, why did clients sponsor “Pillowfight With Soo” over and over again in a back-to-back fashion?

Hahaha this is the first time we're getting this. People being sacked for doing their job well for the company and being popular with the crowd.

Anyway, many things in this spastic world defy logic, because the disease called humans in general not exclusively excluding these Sporn fucks of all denominations infest this dot side of the globe as well with their subjectivity and prejudice. You should pray that they all be struck dead by meteors and asteroids.

In ancient China even simple folk opera was popular with the affluent other than the masses even when vernacular language was largely used.

Don't feel discouraged though. All the best in your future undertakings.

In the last year I was in and out of the office, been constantly told that there were really bad grammatical errors with my language and yet so many times when I asked for an example and help it couldn’t be produced.

2 "and"s in the same sentence... For someone trying to justify her language skill, this is a cardinal sin

But all is not lost. She can still make it in the showbiz with her pretty face and willingness to embarass herself

have you heard actual american djs? hear ryan seacrest on top 40? definitely just as many grammatical errors as our soo. only the accent makes you notice it less. i think she stepped on some big toes lah. or said no to someone.

Not forgetting her honed linguistic or some say oral skills.

Nope, I think both are acceptable, depending on the context. If you use "sang", you are either referring to a past singing event where Shan sang badly or Shan is deceased or you do not know anything about Shan's current singing ability. If you use "sings", it implies that Shan's singing prowess is inferior to that of his cousin presently.

For example, you will say "If only he is rich, I would have married him immediately". You do not say "If only he was rich..." unless you are talking about a past proposal and you no longer know about that guy's financial situation. If you know that the guy is rich now, you will say "If only he was rich then...".

Sorry man, grammatically with the use of "IF", anything that is not true or did not happen - must use "past tense". So it should be "if only he was rich ....."

Its the quality of the teaching of English. We all know that English is taught in every school and that includes Muslims.

There are 2 issues here

1) She clearly has no clue that her English is "terok"

2) Her bosses also do seem to point out that it is her bad English and not her accent. I suspect they themselves are poor in the subject and thus recruited her in the first place. When the complaints started coming in, they were in no position to help her to correct it or make her understand what the issue is.

i tink now all england school, rite? unless she is muslim.

I think in this example, it is not about present or past tenses. It is about an impossible situation. In this case you have to use the "past" tense.

For example, you say "If I were to drop dead this second"; not "If I am to drop dead this second".
