92.5% OF SINGAPOREANS WILLING TO TAKE PAY CUT to kick out FTs

ch8poll.jpg

Last Friday (22 Feb), Singapore’s Chinese TV channel – Mediacorp Channel 8 – featured a live forum ‘Frontline Connects 《前线开讲》

A poll was taken on the question : If the foreign population is reduced, can you accept a lower rate of economic growth? ( and hence, lower pay)

The results:

92.5% can accept lower economic growth/pay
7.5% can’t

Grace Fu was present at the show......... as usual, she refused to see what Singaporeans think, insisting that the Whit Paper is good for Singaporeans and their children.......

THE PAP STILL REFUSE TO ACCEPT PUBLIC OPINION......REFUSE TO LISTEN........ REFUSE TO BE OUR VOICE....

THE PAP IS FINISHED IF THEY PERSIST IN IGNORING THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE....... KAPUT..... HABIS..... MATI.....

:oIo:

I think if the question was, will you take a pay cut for lesser FTs in SG, the response will be very different. People are inherently selfish. Many people still don't grasp the reality of what lesser grow means. Those who are in the late 20s and 30s now need to be very worried now and think about what slow growth from 2030 (when they are late 30s and 40s) means to them.

Was in an industry meeting the other day. A group of 30-40 mid to senior level executives across the industry gathered to share knowledge and experience of what they are seeing. I was one of four Singaporeans in the meetings. After listening to them for 1.5 hrs, I concluded that these foreign talents are all fucked wits. The questions they asked betray their level of knowledge and experience in the subject. I would not even hire them.

Sad day for Singaporean.

sinkees deserve this. 60% for being a dumbass who enjoy being screwed foc.

ok, 40% for not doing more enough to convince the 60% that long term screwing by pappies is bad. but 40% still forgivable.

Where did you get this 100000 figure from? And you think we grew only 1.3% for all the years?

Before I answer this question, would you agree with my claim that FT did not add any value to our economy if this was true?

Only problem is: there is no such thing as 'trickle down' effect. Trickle-down economics a.k.a Reaganomics doesn't work in real life. The concept is as asinine as cutting taxes for the richest so that they will create jobs.

Bravo, Bravo!

Without foreigners, pay will go up.
What's the point of having 8 percent growth when the bulk of the benefits flow to the foreigners and the top 10 percent of sinkees?

If growth slows to 3 percent - which is the average growth rate for developed economies - and people can enjoy higher income, better work-life balance, less stress ...what's wrong with that? Don't tell me that it is not possible. Look at Northern European economies.

I bet some does.

There are some whom operate resturant here selling food I have never seen before. It sure add to a more vibrant city of multi culture society.

I am Hakka but hardly find a store selling fried abacus (算盘子)。

Those first generation Chinese whom came before 1960 has either retired lost interest in the trade.

Recently I found one selling it at Lavandar Food Market.

Food aside. Everyone are human. Everyone want a better life. Who don't.

I am just piss that the government agenda may be a political one rather than social one.

So many retards here... how many times does one need to repeat: there is no direct co-relation between economic growth and level of Sinkies wages. It is stupid to start an argument on the wrong premise.

You don't need an FT to sell 算盘子。There is a local selling a fine version of 算盘子 at Syed Alwi. He took some time off to go to China to learn the skill. This leaning mentality on FT must stop.

When investors start leaving Singapore, not only the foreign workers follow, many Singaporeans will lose their jobs, opposition parties don't tell you this. When foreign investors are here, they are not only doing their business here, not just setting up shop, hiring people, they are involved in many other economic transactions in Singapore.
Singaporeans should set a broader sights and not to be fooled by the opposition parties. It is not about losing 1 or 2 companies, it is not about losing a few workers, the impact on Singapore is more than just losing the few companies.

Where are these 92.5% during election time? If 92.5% voted no to PAP, we would have a change of government to begin with and things could have been different.

what a load bollocks..that is one reason why we shouldnt believe everything from the media.
i asked all my local employees if they are willing to do that and 100% said NO

What is sinkapore's niche right now? Sinkapore needs to make itself relevant. And being in the low cost manufacturing space is not making this island relevant.
Sinkapore wants MNCs that can create good-paying jobs. Right now, the whole manufacturing focus is totally out of whack - that's why they have to import PMET to bring down wages. PMET jobs are supposed to be the jobs for middle income sinkees. But the PAP has made those jobs low cost. So, what middle income jobs should sinkees do?

Singaporeans should set a broader sights and not to be fooled by the opposition parties. It is not about losing 1 or 2 companies, it is not about losing a few workers, the impact on Singapore is more than just losing the few companies.
Sinkapore can thrive with a 3-4 million population. There are ample examples for you to look at, if you want to and stop aping the same lines of the PAP.

You tell them that they will be replaced by foreigners eventually ...and their answer will be 100 percent YES.

if i could i would.
my sinkie employees have the least contribution while demanding the most salary..

some of the reasons why the trickle down effect is not useful for sg now
- massive increase in the bottom pool due to foreigners. more people to share = less each has to take
- a lot of the trickle is trapped on top - wage difference between top and middle/bottom is astronomical now
- a lot of trickle is transfered out - large number of foreigners send money home, sinkies travelling/studying overseas
- a lot of trickle received goes immediately to gahmen/glc - direct/indirect taxes such as coe, misc fees such as gst, conservancy, parkin, erp
- a lot of trickle is not transfered among the bottom pool but quickly goes back to the top - unlike other countries, most sinkies are employees of huge corporations. trickled money spent on goods/services owned by these corps instead of family/private owned companies. sg eating at food junction as oppose to eating at a coffeeshop

Dumbfuck opposition supporting retards talking cock. When they see their wages stagnant, price of goods and services continue to climb, they will be begging for the Foreigners to return

that's called inflation, which we are already experiencing for the past couple of years. so what are you talking about?
