SINGAPORE: More than 840,000 households living in Housing and Development Board (HDB) flats will receive a GST Voucher - Utilities Save (U-Save) rebate this month, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) said on Friday (Apr 1).
Eligible households will each receive a rebate of up to S$65, depending on their flat type. The GST U-Save forms one component of the permanent GST Voucher scheme designed to help lower- and middle-income Singaporean households with their living expenses.
The GST U-Save voucher provides substantial direct assistance to households, MOF said. Those living in 1- to 2-room HDB flats can offset about three to four months of utilities bills on average with their regular voucher, while those living in 3- to 4-room flats can offset about one to two months of utilities bills on average, it added.
