Eight Malaysians filed a RM60 million suit against Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and the World Health Organization (WHO) for alleged health complications and deaths caused by the Covid-19 vaccination.
The suit targeted a number of 25 defendants, including former prime ministers Muhyiddin Yassin and Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the Ministry of Health, the government, and WHO Chief Director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
According to a causa paper seen by Malaysiakini, the eight plaintiffs claimed to have been affected by the government's directive for mandatory vaccination during the peak of the Covid-19 outbreak four years ago.
Among them was a resident of Muar who claimed his father died after receiving two doses of Sinovac vaccine and one dose of Pfizer.
Another plaintiff was a lawn cleaning worker who claimed to have suffered strokes, difficulty speaking, and trouble walking as usual until he needed a stick after complying with government orders to receive two doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
Another plaintiff was a female massage therapist who was previously healthy but claimed to have had chronic vomiting and headaches, and the whole body was in pain and shaking after receiving a dose of the Pfizer vaccine. He now needs to use a wheelchair.
The suit also involved an employee of a trust management company who claimed to be directed to take paid leave or to resign voluntarily for refusing to take the vaccine.
