$6.50 'Economical' Rice @ SGH

we live the standard of swiss, what is $10 a meal? we should have a meal of $100 lah.

soon...very soon...the golden age is coming pretty soon.

"So we decided to add rice but the auntie claimed there was no space on the plate!!

IN thailand, when i order a plate of fried rice ( without meat, of course) and requested for some rice crackers added to it as i saw on the promotional banner.

After some explanation by the smiling polite Thai stall holder, i realise that the rice crackers is for another dish. I show a sign of disappointment and mai pen rai.( nevermind)

In the end the tall holder smile and offer me the rice cracker for free. I thank her gladly for her nice gesture which is made out from her independent and flexible thinking without following the rules blindly but place more emphasis on human relationship and happiness between human being.

I left and holding my vegetarian fried rice and rice crackers with a smile on my face and it is just another great day in the land of smile and looking forward to interact with more true , blue human beings.

I feel so lucky. :-)

all the Hospitals in singapore ate charging high price for the food in the kopeediam.... my dad had been in NUH for almost 9 months, i cant recall how much i had spend on lunch & dinner.. sometime, i will just do some friedrice for my meal.. even in TTSH. it also so expensive....

Oh no, The Thais are really nice. But if you display any sinkie behavior, of course they will finish you off, any quality humans will finish off any sinkie behavior.

When you are unsinkified, you do not have to care if a person is sincere to you or not, only a sinkie who has full of guilt will care of such things.

But anyway, GOod luck to you in dealing your overprice food in sinkieland.. and happy battling with the stall holders WAHAHHAHA!!!

sinkee behaviour is a bloody insult to our great nation....everything also complains....but it think most singaporeans are not more civilised and more enlightened after they have travelled overseas, worked overseas and stayed overseas...singaporeans need to be more gracious and more happier!!! don't always show a long tulan face....

i went to bugis junction yesterday...went to a shop...the singaporean salesgirl was indifferent, couldn't be bothered,chatted with her colleague and didn't give a damned to her customer...if i'm the boss i'll sacked her...long fartup face!

if singaporeans don't progress and don't change their behaviour and attitude, they will soon be replaced by more gracious people....don't blame FTs...

Just across the causeway S$2.50=RM15.60 at the government JB hospital canteen. Can buy 6 meals if you eat nasi lemak OR 2 pieces of roti channai with kopi or teh tarik.

Economical rice stall at SGH charges me $6.50 instead of $4.80 stated on menu

Workers at the economic rice stall in SGH are extremely unreasonable, says STOMPer Shao Hong, who says he was overcharged for a plate of three vegetable dishes and one portion of fish.

Although the menu at the Singapore General Hospital foodcourt stated that a plate of rice with three vegetable dishes and one meat dish cost $4.80, he was charged $6.50 for the same combination of food without any rice.

The stall holders insisted that they had told him and his friend about the price difference but Shao Hong says that they did not.

Upon learning about the difference in price, they wanted to add rice to their plates but was told that it was too late as the plate was already full.

In an email dated December 21, an angry Shao Hong says:

"My friend and I were at Kopitiam @ SGH this afternoon.

"We opted for three vegetable and one fish (normal sweet and sour fish) without rice and were charged a ridiculous $6.50 each!

"What a rip off!!

"It was clearly stated on the menu that Three vegtable and one meat portion with rice costs $4.80.

"We asked why it was so expensive and the cashier said, 'Oh, my colleague didn't tell you about the price just now? You should have ordered rice, it wouldn't be as expensive.'

"So we decided to add rice but the auntie claimed there was no space on the plate!!

"Still in shock and not knowing want to do, we paid for it.

"When we went to clarify again, they insisted they told us about the price. The auntie was so rude! Even the two helpers told us they had informed us but they really didn't!

"Please don't eat there.

"A few of my friends encountered the same thing too! "

SGH have regular shuttle to Tiong Bahru Mkt what...alot of staff go there makan, cheap and good.

Now it has become a JOKE economical rice??? does these hawkers at the food court knows the menaing economical?? means cheap or cheaper. WTF Hospital food court some more, eat already get heart attack re-admit again? is it?

Stomper is not overcharged. The order is without rice so the portions of vegetables and meat will be more (presumably). If the order comes with rice, the rice takes up a bigger portion of the plate and thus, should costs less.

Yeah stomper is not over charged but is underpaid as a collar worker !

That is why complaining whole time .

pile up food on the plate like Mt. Everest price RM5.00 = S$2.05 see the differences??? Eco-No-Money-Cal Food Court?
