SINGAPORE: A Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) regular serviceman was found hanging from a rope in an SAF training area in Lentor on Tuesday.
First Warrant Officer (1WO) Rajendran Pachemuthu, 51, was found by two civilian contractors who were maintaining SAF's training equipment.
The contractors reported the incident to MWO Ong Chin Sai, a commander from Engineers Training Institute, who proceeded to the site immediately.
He made a police report at 12:20pm.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and SAF ambulances arrived on site at about 12:25pm.
Rajendran was unconscious and without pulse, and the SCDF paramedic pronounced him dead on site.
The Ministry of Defence and the SAF extend their condolences to the family of the late 1WO Rajendran.
Police are investigating the incident, and the SAF is assisting the family in their time of grief.
