A 50-year-old homeless man pleaded guilty to charges of physical and sexual assault on a young girl in Kluang, Johor back in July.
The accused, Ho Khek Chung, made the plea when the charges were read out before Judge Sayani Mohd Nor at the Muar Sessions Court yesterday (Sept 11), reported

According to the charge sheet, Ho was accused of molesting a 15-year-old female student at a night market in Kluang at 4.15pm on July 31.

The facts of the case revealed that the victim went to the night market to buy food with her mother. When she passed by Ho, he took the opportunity to sexually assault her.
Following the incident, the victim cried and told her mother what happened, leading the latter to lodge a police report at the Kluang district police headquarters (IPD) on the same day.
Ho was charged under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offenses Against Children Act 2017, which is punishable under Section 14 of the same act. It carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison and caning upon conviction.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Danial Munir prosecuted while Ho was not represented by a lawyer.

‘She was too pretty’
China Press reported that when Ho was asked why he did the crime, this was his answer:
She was too pretty to resist and I couldn’t help it.”
Earlier, the prosecution requested the court to impose an appropriate sentence for Ho’s crime.
The court eventually sentenced Ho to five years in prison starting from the date of his arrest on July 31 and one cane stroke.
He was also ordered to undergo one year of police supervision upon completing his sentence.
