Starting this thread solely on my own obeservation, I realize SG guys below the age of 30 (esp those born after 1980) are:

(1.) Getting weaker in terms of character, physical appearance as well as having ownership and responsibility in their life...

(2.) Less SG men of this age group getting married (well pros and cons here but i see marriage as a sign that a man is strong and willing to accept his destiny as a man, never mind the modern unreasonable SG woman...)...

(3.) Have cars, dress well, but never seem to have enough savings to do exciting things like starting a small business, buying their own house etc...

(4.) Choose to escape...always think the grass is greener on the other side but never make an effort to go accomplish it...

(5.) One trick pony...unlike men born in the 50s or 60s who could do housework, do home repairs, hold a daytime full time job, drive taxi at night or help friends part time in the evening, and mostly bring up a family (wife and kids) financially by himself...

(6.) Very hesistant to get into fights or arguments even though politically, legally and morally they are right...

(7.) Used to many job hoppers in this age group, nowadays it seems this group is dead, its like people are just too lazy to better themselves or challenge the system

(8.) Do not want to be engaged in politics, even a simple discussion. You will seldom hear "the government is Fxxxed up" being said by this group...

(9.) If you jog, play basketball or soccer regularly, this group somehow is apparently missing (I know many are being sheltered in the gyms) Nowadays I love to go jogging at my reservoir so many more slender and sexy girls than guys...

(10.) Sorry to those of this age group, i maybe generalizing, but this is strictly my own opinion...

Bros kindly contribute...

Spoiled brats, maybe.. They didn't suffer much hardship till they enter army..

Anyway are you from this age group?

i dont belong in this age group (i am born in the 70s) but deal with them everyday...sad to say many are selfish but ambitious and will play another person out anytime, also somehow they do not stand up for what is right e.g. behind the boss say this and that no good, but in front of boss act like sheep, then when the internal customers complain say it is boss idea (even though they are part of the committee)...i usually associate such behavior more with women (never like to admit mistakes) than our SG menfrom this age group...sad

Well said. The T-shirt, bermudas and flip-flops constitute the SG male's national costume.

That's due to the sweltering heat.. You can't expect all folks to go in long sleeves and pants in tropical weather

hardship in the army? those born in the 80s have the best time in the army, they don't eat food prepared by cooks, all prepared for by Singapore Food Industries. nice comfortable beds, cannot be tekan, and the list goes on.

People 30 years and above have all these attributes as well.

The most strange part is taking the aircon buses to places like range.
They look really funny sitting in the air con buses holding their rifles.

And they drop dead like flies sprayed with Baygon on 2.4.

ya agreed but once you are married and have loan, kids and wife and these attributes its forgivable...not when you are young and vibrant and have these attributes

Not only Singaporean have the problem. Whole world also have the same problem. Even China/Malaysia 3rd world country feel the same. So does the Japan/Taiwan/Korea 1st world country.
All because of smaller family member and higher education. Where all parent are to Kiasu provide everything they can to their kids.
Next 20 year( kid now in primary school) even worst. Because they grow up with the internet. Playing game. As we all can see they Q up for phone/game/gadget which have no value only gimmick.
I always thinking why they Q for hours which they can have it in 2 week time without Q.

I collected S$400 gold every year until they tell me please don't come anymore. Still haven't dropped dead, but got banned. I asked why cannot, they said nevermind, above 36 don't need IPPT, go home...

i have to disagree on your view. A man is strong only when he accept his destiny as a man by marrying a proper woman.
