French government's secret contracts with big pharma come under fire

The French government's secret contracts with the pharmaceutical companies Baxter, Novartis, GLaxoSmithKline and Sanofi Pasteur to produce the swine flu jab are coming under increasing scrutiny as polls show that only 17 % of the people in France now plan to take the jab.
The mainstream newspaper "Le Point" criticises the way the contracts for 94 million doses of vaccines were signed "in the greatest opacity."
According to the report, Sanofi Pasteur's vaccine is to cost 6.25 euros a jab even though its Panazea is considered the safest of them all because it is without mercury or adjuvants and made using the same method as the seasonal flu jabs.
The GSK jab costs 7 euros; the Novartis jab 934 and the Baxter vaccine 10 euros.
French Health Minister Roselyne Bachelot recently came under fire for concealing her 12 years of employment for the pharmaceutical industry.
