3 arrested for allegedly attempting to cheat MBS casino

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a 24-year-old Marina Bay Sands (MBS) croupier and his two brothers, aged 21 and 25, for trying to cheat the casino.
Officers from the Casino Crime Investigation Branch of the Criminal Investigation Department were tipped off by the casino operators.
They arrested two of the accused at the casino early Monday morning, and the third accused was arrested later in the afternoon.
It is believed the trio cheated the casino of an estimated sum of S$150,000.
Cash of S$68,000, RM20,000 and S$3,800 worth of chips were seized as case exhibits.
The trio will be charged in court on Tuesday for conspiring to cheat the casino.
If convicted, they could be jailed up to 15 years, and fined.
Head of the Casino Crime Investigation Branch of CID, Superintendent of Police Michael Ang reiterated police's stand against such criminal activities.
He said, "Police will spare no effort in tracking down such offenders and ensure that they will be dealt with to the full extent of the law."
