Disgruntled ex PAP cadres forming a splinter rival political party (SFP) or PAP 2.0 should go fight in the WESTERN electorates of SG where the PAP strongholds are. Anti PAP voters in the Eastern electorates won't vote for PAP 2.0 even in 3 cornered fights: SFP would just split the votes amongst PAP supporters resulting in both PAP and SFP being slaughtered, the SFP candidate might even lose his election deposit whilst WP romped in with a landslide.

Because there are PAP supporters and grass roots members in the PAP camp who don't like LHL and his army buddies parachuted into cabinet.

PAP 2.0 (Splinter group From PAP) disguised as SFP made of ex PAP cadres would get their votes of those who like PAP policies but not LHL and his GENERALS/ADMIRALS Ministers.
