SINGAPORE: Twenty-four people were nabbed for drink-driving early Sunday morning, bringing the total number of such arrests so far this year to 2,891.
The 24 were arrested after a four-and-a-half-hour ringfencing operation by the police that saw roadblocks set up in Punggol-Sengkang and Boat Quay areas.
Ninety-seven motorists were tested for excessive alcohol intake, of which 24 failed. All were men between 21 and 48 years old.
21 motorists were also summoned for other traffic-related offences.
