20 years for sex-slave case man
<!-- by line --> <!-- end by line --> MIAMI - A BRITISH-BORN man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for conspiring with a woman in the Philippines to make her two young daughters his sex slaves, authorities said on Wednesday. The girls were 11 and 12 years old and knew the suspect as 'Daddy Boss' when they engaged in sexual acts with him in April 2007, prosecutors said. A statement from the US Attorney for the Southern District of Florida said Donald Mathias, 64 and a US citizen since Sept 2000, paid the mother thousands of dollars and used her to film him having sex with girls. With the mother's help Mathias, who pleaded guilty in Dec 2009, also got the girls to sign a contract supposedly allowing him to engage in illicit activity with them, the statement said. 'Mathias ... admitted that he made the minors sign a contract in Dec 2007, requiring the minors to be his sex slaves,' said the statement. In addition to 20 years in prison, Mathias was sentenced on Tuesday to pay S$200,000 (S$280,000) in restitution to his victims and to serve five years probation after his release from jail, the US Attorney's office said. -- REUTERS
