Dumped by their much younger girlfriends, two men in their fifties came up with the same revenge - uploading nude photos of their exes on the Internet.

They were arrested earlier this week for transmitting obscene photos by electronic means.

Police said yesterday that a 26-year-old woman had lodged a report on Nov 20 saying that her 58-year-old ex-boyfriend had threatened to upload nude pictures of her if she did not get back together with him. The man, who was also accused of criminal intimidation, went on to post the photos that very day, before being arrested on Wednesday.

The other case involved a 32-year-old woman, who lodged a report on Sunday that her 52-year-old former boyfriend had posted photos of her in a compromising position on the Internet.

He was caught on Thursday.

Both men now face the possibility of up to three months in jail and/or a fine for transmitting obscene photos electronically. The punishment for criminal intimidation is up to two years' jail and/or a fine.

The arrests follow the sentencing of Peter Lee Chia Wee, 20, on Thursday to 11/2 years of probation and 100 hours of community service for posting a nude picture of his ex-girlfriend on Facebook. He took a picture of her without her knowledge.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police Wilson Lim, the commander of Jurong Police Division, said the police take a serious view of such threats to besmirch the reputation of others.

He advised the public not to put themselves in compromising situations which may make them vulnerable to blackmail.

Can someone who took nude pictures of Fiona Xie please upload them? I miss her a lot.
