If HDB flats are not cheap and greatly subsidised, would there be so many buyers.

Another irrefutable indication that HDB flats are very affordable: There are NO homeless people in Singapore. Our country is the only one in the world where Homeless people do not exist. The reason why there are No homeless people in Singapore is we have the most affordable property prices in the world. With such heavily subsidised HDB flats, everyone can afford to own a peice of property. Singapore is also the only country in the world where all her citizens own their own property.

I believe the PAP government give out hand-outs to 3-room HDB and below ! Like $300- $400 per month .

We can presume and estimate the number of free loaders here in Singapore !

Some people in Yishun stays in Yishun but owns Nissan GT-R, a $260,000 car !

I doubt that...thousand of people still on waiting list to rent HDB flats as they can't afford to buy....

Adios...

I agree with you.

Mabok Tan is really Mabok now. Wonder whether he sniffs Glue too. If he does, I am not surprised HDB flats are affordable.

You moronic dumbass :oIo:

In other countries, the poor are homeless.

Fortunately under the leadership of our country's founding father MM Lee, there are no poor people in Singapore and hence no homeless people.

Worse still and more importantly, giving freebies may make losers out of some potential winners.

Exactly, if the poor see their peers have a happy relaxing life without having to work, those who are contemplating earning a honest living will put off that idea.

In the 70s and 80s, Singapore was a different city and started to prosperous in the late 70s where CPF contributions were 25%-25%. Up to 90% were renting. If I can remember, the first batch of 3-room for sales were in Marsiling selling at about $7,500, Later to Toa Payoh and Telok Blangah. Priority to resettlements. It was very affordable
and every families could easily afford it but then the queue and waiting lists were long.
Those who missed out, hesitated and the undecided one were later to regret.
The prices of 5-room less than $30,000 and 4-room less than $20,000.

Now, getting a HDB flat is a must if you want to start a family, that is the only cheapest
alternative unless you remain single until 35yrs you can buy a 3 rm resale flat. We have no other choice unless you prefer to stay with your parent. I don't agree 100% can afford HDB now, maybe up to 80% if only they do their homeworks of getting the right home. The question is how many percentages of the populations where combined
salary of the families are below $3000. They are likely to find it hard to buy a flat and also if they are very selective. Will our Govt assisted them in anyway to buy them,
providing grants do help but not effectively. I remembered when GCT as a prime minister, he will do his upmost best to help every Singaporean in need. But now, LHL is
the PM now. Will he carried out the wishes of GCT.
